The distance from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park 265kms. Approximate time is 4 hours by road. The Amboseli adventures begin with spectacular Amboseli National Park. Situated in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is famous for its tremendous variety of big game. After lunch at our lodge we are ready for an afternoon game drive.

Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Lions, Cheetah, Wildebeest, Giraffes, Baboons. Optional visit to a Masai village is available as this is the home of the Masai people. Here you learn about their tribal social systems, customs and the place of the Masai in today’s Africa. The residents live in their Manyatta, or village, much as they have for centuries and a visit gives you the opportunity to see the interior of these mud-hut homes, spotless and unadorned, contrasted with the Masai themselves, bedecked with brilliantly colored beads and cloths.

The sightseeing and activities were better than we even thought! I still can’t believe we did so much in such a short time, but we did not feel stressed. We really loved the tour and would do it all over again in a minute! Thanks.

This was a truly memorable experience. It’s a long drive from Nairobi so you’d definitely want to stay at least one night near or in the park. I stayed at AA Lodge which was very nice and empty in November. Having a vehicle all to yourself means you can stop to watch specific animals as long as you like and you have pole position for photographs.
